I was born and raised in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

A nice town of 10,000 people located about an hour Southeast of Des Moines.
I am 45 years old and have been married to my wonderful wife Kelly for the last 20 years. We have 3
children and one granddaughter.

I’ve been a firefighter for 23 years and a creator for the last 8.

We moved into our new home in 2005. I originally wanted a bigger shop to work in because at the time I was occupying the front half of our old garage which had a low ceiling. I had simply out grew my work space. We found 1 1/2 acres on the edge of town and was going to build my new shop there. Fortunately the city had other ideas for anyone wanting to build on an empty lot. In their infinite wisdom about property values, they require that you first build a home on that lot before you build any kind of shop or other building on it. So, we researched all kinds of house designs, looking through books and on the internet. All seemed to leave us with the feeling of, ehhh. Then I started drawing up ideas. Several ideas came and went, then, finally I decided to mess with the shape of a simple ranch design. I broke it in half and slid one side back a little, then raised the center that created 2 different roof lines. You might notice I took away the right angles too. I penciled in the windows and had a pretty good idea how the interior was to be layed out.  All the ideas came together with the help of a local architect Rod Curtis, he was instrumental in bringing out the style we wanted in our home. I include it because it is another creation of mine.

I also like listening to metal in the form of music while working in my shop. Well, it has to be good too. Recently, I've been listening to a relatively unknown album by Black Sabbath ( You know,"Ozzy Osbourne") from the early 70's, entitled, "Volume 4". This has some of the best guitar riffs I have ever heard. I have also been listening to Jimi Hendrix "Live at Winterland" from 1970, no need to explain how great this cd is. He was incredible and now nearly 40 years after his infamous performance of the National Anthem at Woodstock, I just heard it today on a TV commercial for Mt Dew. I think thats pretty cool even if the kids don't have a clue.

I sell my ideas at art shows in Iowa and the surrounding states.

My metal sculptures have found homes all across the United States.

I enjoy creating something that brings happiness to people.

Commissioned pieces welcomed.
I can help your ideas turn into a work of art.

The picture below is of our 3 children enjoying summer days a few years ago. (I just like the picture)

Thank you and Enjoy!
